Erwin Alejandro Ordóñez

Erwin Alejandro Ordóñez is a Los Angeles-based director with a lifelong passion for filmmaking and storytelling. His most recent short film, ONE SMALL REQUEST, allowed him to collaborate with established actors while further refining his voice as a filmmaker. His previous short film, MEMORY SWIM, enjoyed a successful national and international festival run, earning critical praise and the award for Best Illinois Short Film in Chicago.

Born in Guatemala and raised in Chicago, Erwin discovered storytelling at an early age through homemade productions ranging from self-produced news programs to guerrilla-style narrative shorts. While attending film school, he wrote, produced, and directed numerous projects while simultaneously gaining experience on professional productions.

After relocating to Los Angeles, Erwin continued developing his craft both independently and within the television industry. His work eventually led him to ABC/Hulu, where he has gained valuable insight into the creative and production processes behind major television programming. Along the way, he earned directing shadow opportunities on The Conners and The Rookie, experiences that further expanded his understanding of episodic storytelling.

Today, while continuing his work in television, Erwin develops independent film and television projects that explore universal human experiences through the perspective of a diverse filmmaker.
